Starbucks Coffee and the Filipino people make an excellent cultural match thanks to their shared history of warm hospitality, enduring need for connection, and passion for coffee. The Philippines became the third market to launch outside of North America with the opening of the 6750 Ayala shop, which was a critical turning point in our history. From merely a simple storefront, Starbucks delivered some of the world’s greatest raw whole bean coffees. The company started with one store in Seattle’s famed Pike Place Market.
